Practice

001

Media and Creative Partnerships

The people who make culture and the companies that want to reach them rarely meet on even terms. That gap is most of the work.

002

Campaign Development and Market Activation

Brands, talent and production, brought around an idea that can actually sell. We develop it, then move it toward execution.

003

Talent, Identity and Rights

A name. A face. A voice. How those get licensed and paid for, and the records that prove who agreed to what.

004

Emerging Media and Technology

We test new ways for talent and brands to work together with clearer consent, attribution and terms.

On the name

Parol is an old word for the spoken word. It reaches English through the French parole, and survives mostly in law, where parol evidence means evidence given by mouth rather than set down on paper. A thing that counts because someone said it.

That is a reasonable place for a media house to start. Most of what we work with begins as speech. A pitch in a room. A story told twice before anyone writes it down. A name agreed on a call. The industry around it runs on paper, and the paper tends to arrive after the value has already moved somewhere else.

We are interested in the distance between those two things. Who said it first, who holds it after, and whether the record agrees.

House is the other half. A house is somewhere work and people belong. Ìbàdàn is where this one is.

Position

Africa keeps getting handed the consumption side. We are building on the creator side.
